The Team Behind SD Wheel Works (our names link to Instagram)

Chris Garcia is a Co-Founder and GM at SD Wheel Works. With roots in BMX, Chris started riding bicycles at a young age and never stopped rolling. He started working at Q Bikes in San Diego at fifteen where he realized his passion for bicycles, and craftsmanship, and developed his natural mechanical aptitude. Chris worked at Q Bikes through his attendance at SDSU where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Since then he’s worked in many positions in the Cycling and Outdoor Industries until he ended up where he is now at SD Wheel Works.

Still shreddin’ on bikes, he also loves anything that has wheels and gears and goes fast. But its the bicycle that motivates him the most. He believes that the bicycle can be used for fun, health, and utilitarian purposes and feels most at ease wandering on a bike.

Kilian Landers is Co-Founder, CEO and Owner of SD Wheel Works.  An avid traveler and adventurer, he has a passion for movement and the mechanisms which allow us to do it with ease and efficiency.  He is a designer with backgrounds in interiors, graphics, photography, and fashion. This combination of pursuits brings a love of function, as well as form, into the incredible melting pot that is SD Wheel Works.

Tom Lopez is a Co-founder and the operations manager at SD Wheel Works. He grew up in San Diego during the 80's when Tony Hawk and skateboarding were taking off, but never really got into it. He has always preferred riding his bike. After riding a few cheap bikes Tom got his first real BMX bike in 1988, a used chrome Haro Master with all the freestyle accessories which he had no idea what to do with. After meeting a friend in school who introduced him to Mat Hoffman's "Head First" on VHS, it was all over. All he did for the next few years was ride BMX with his friends all over San Diego. Tom has always rode BMX since then, even through marriage and starting a family. He has dome some riding trips and even entered a few competitions over the years. He has made life long friends from bikes, and that is the aspect he truly enjoys. So here he is now, 38 years old with a wife and daughter, still having fun pedaling around on a little kids bike.

Jon White is lead machinist and fabricator at SD Wheel Works where he creates new and innovative products for the wheeled enthusiast. His role in the shop is the result of his unique background and experience ranging from kart racing as a kid, to next generation diesel engine design, and working on a 3500hp Race Dragster.  He has spent twenty years pursuing his passion for performance-oriented designs through his career and hobbies. When not at the shop, you can find Jon and his wife cruisin’ the countryside for the fresh air and scenery (Probably from the comfort of two wheels). He’s just another nut connecting the handlebars to the seat!
